Quick Facts
Description
The Wicked Pickle, marketed as “Pickleball Maine — South Portland,” opened as Maine’s first indoor pickleball facility, built by owner Tony Miner on Broadway near the Scarborough line. The 8-court facility (4 built to professional/tournament spec with bleacher seating on each side) includes a pro shop, cafe serving paninis, sandwiches, soups, and salads, plus a smoothie bar. No membership is required — non-members and guests are always welcome — though membership does unlock added benefits. The facility runs lessons and clinics year-round with some of Maine’s top instructors, and offers the ACE Scholarship Program, which lets middle and high schoolers (grades 7-12) earn points through pickleball participation toward future college or trade school scholarships. It holds a 5.0 rating across 72 Google reviews.
