$40 is kinda wild for drop in play. Here for a conference in downtown San Jose and wanted to find some pickup games for a couple hours. I paid it and was able to play 7 games in 3 hours. Nice courts, nice community of people, but it would have been nice to pay $40 for 2-3 days. For those curious, $40 is a day rate, but i’m assuming most won’t spend all day there. if you need an uber (which i did from downtown) it’s going to be about $15 each way. If this is you, That’s roughly $70 + whatever you tip for Uber to play 7ish games. The 3 stars is based solely on the high drop-in price.

Love this place! Lively. Energetic. Clean. Great atmosphere. Players are friendly and staffs are super helpful, and it offers daily events/matches to participate.I have no problem navigating the space/app. I joined in early this March now I go multiple days a week.

Played at the hub since it opened few years back. Competition is there but everything else feels lacking. For open play on popular times, it feels that there’s too many people queued up - waiting over 20min is not normal. I feel like there should be a player cap in the facility regardless of membership/drop in. The membership fee is wayyy too much and should be priced lower for the locals who already spending so much on other basic necessities in the area. I would only recommend coming here at dead hours with a group of people you love playing with. That’s how most of the hub players here make it a better experience for themselves. Don’t get me started on the bathrooms either…. Anyways 3/5 stars as the courts, competition, and dupr rated play events make up the good in this facility. Hoping they can change things around to make it a better experience.

Very nice courts, price for drop ins and monthly memberships are pretty outrageous. Were talking full premium gym membership pricing. Facility is great. Just priced in a way normal people wouldnt pay for and would rather go to parks for free. Pay-walled out, Disney style, which is a shame.

The HUB is hands down the best place to play pickleball in the Bay Area. 20 Courts that are pristine - super well maintained, even lighting throughout the premises, and they are labeled by skill level so that you’re guaranteed to get GOOD GAMES when you drop in!Super friendly staff, lots of regulars, it’s a strong community of folks that support each other.You can drop in for open play anytime with your membership or a day pass, plus they have non rated events + DUPR rated events happening throughout the week for both men, women, and mixed teams. I personally find my level of pickleball addiction to be way higher than most of my friends, so I love that in addition to fixed partner events, they have a lot of events that allow you to join as a solo player and you keep getting auto-paired with others in a round robin format. Great to keep playing with different partners so you can get better on your own schedule while learning to adapt to so many different play styles.Even during the summer time when the outdoor weather is great and we have parks closer to home, my friends and family way prefer to drive the extra bit to the Hub because we know we’ll get way better games for the same amount of time compared to open play at a park where the wait time may be longer and the games are hit or miss, and then you’re stuck waiting in line all over again. The Hub has a very organized challenge system where you can stay if you win during non busy times, but everyone moves off to give the next players a turn if there are 4+ paddles waiting. There’s also a single dedicated challenge court permanently dedicated to having the 2 winners stay on forever for as long as they keep winning!!They also have a small locker room, shower, and clean bathrooms, and a soft matte area with some cardio equipment for warming up.One thing I’ll tell you is that you WILL get much better at pickleball if you play here. Whether people play for fun or competitively, everyone plays a bit more technically and strategically compared to bang bang bang at parks (though you’ll see plenty of those here too!), so your overall breadth of understanding and versatility will inevitably improve.Love this place!
