The Athletic Clubs is the parent brand behind Little Rock Athletic Club (LRAC), Central Arkansas’s flagship fitness club, which opened a state-of-the-art indoor pickleball facility as what CEO Frank Lawrence called the club’s first major new pillar in more than 40 years, alongside tennis, swimming, and fitness. Courts 5 through 8 run PlaySight, a multi-angle video system for replay, coaching, and automated highlights, complimentary for members during lessons, leagues, or reservations. Programming spans open play weighted by skill level, members-only leagues, round robins, private lessons from certified pro Jerry Weigle (who also runs DUPR rating assessments), clinics, an annual December Club Championship, and the invitation-only Best of the Best State Championship, the largest pickleball prize purse in Arkansas.
