Quick Facts
Description
Seam provides a unified API that connects software applications to smart locks, gates, thermostats, and sensors across more than 1,000 device models, acting as the automation layer between a booking system and physical hardware.
Its dedicated pickleball page names the operator pain points plainly: manually sharing codes before each session, players arriving early or staying late, codes being reused or shared, staff opening gates through the day, and coordinating multiple courts and bookings.
The mechanism is reservation-triggered access. A player books through the facility’s existing system, that system forwards the reservation to Seam by API call or webhook, and Seam provisions a unique code active only during the reserved window and revoked when it ends. Named workflows include unmanned facilities, multi-court and multi-zone management with different schedules per zone, high booking volume, and revocable temporary codes for staff, vendors, and cleaning crews. An optional control layer embeds an unlock button in admin tools as a manual fallback.
Supported hardware spans keypad locks, gate access systems, facility access control, and smart relays, with brands including August, Schlage, Yale, Kwikset, Nuki, Brivo, and Salto.
Note: Seam is developer infrastructure, so the direct buyer is often the club’s software vendor rather than the club.
