The Pickle Shack opened in Delaware, Ohio, in 2023 as owner Dave Ganim’s answer to a gap he saw in the market: dedicated pickleball courts rather than lines painted over tennis. The nearly 27,000-square-foot, 24-hour facility runs 10 temperature-controlled courts on Cushion Extreme surfacing, an eco-friendly system using recycled tire and shoe rubber that reduces joint and foot strain during extended play. Multiple sound-dampening measures cut echo, 12 individual HVAC zones keep temperature manageable, and a Playsight video partnership gives members multi-angle instant replay for reviewing close calls. TieBreakers, the on-site bar and lounge, has multiple 65-inch screens and a full drink menu for watching sports or unwinding post-match, and the pro shop runs a demo-paddle program so players can try before they buy. Membership runs $89 plus $8 an hour for court time.
