Northern Illinois Foot & Ankle Specialists’ pickleball connection is an original blog article on preventing pickleball injuries, written from a podiatrist’s perspective on the sport’s foot and ankle risks; the podiatry group’s fourteen standalone Illinois offices all share the resource. As a podiatry practice, its offices provide the foot and ankle care behind the article, from evaluation through treatment of the injuries the podiatrist tips address. This listing covers the Fox Lake, Illinois, office on US Highway 12.
I had surgery from an injury in August and we are now in January. Everything went fantastic, Doctor Statkus and his staff are amazing! They take pride in what they do. From diagnosis to now, every visit and experience has been wonderful! Which was great because, I’m very very active and I wasn’t about to let an injury slow me down, everyone took great care to make sure I was ready for action again! 10 out of 10! Feeling great and all healed up! Highly recommend!
My doctor was very kind, knowledgeable, and I genuinely enjoyed working with him. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Northern Illinois Foot & Ankle Specialists because of the office’s lack of communication and accountability regarding my orthotics.I worked with the office in 2025 and was told my orthotics would arrive in December, but I never received them. I called in March for an update and was told someone would follow up with me, but no one ever did. Later, I received a letter from my insurance company noting an overpayment of benefits because the office re-ran my insurance in January 2026 for the same service without discussing it with me first. When I called again in May 2026, I requested that the office provide complimentary orthotics for the 2025 order they claimed was lost and allow me to use my 2026 benefits appropriately. Instead, the only resolution offered was a credit for what my insurance had already paid in 2025 and waiving a deposit fee that was unnecessary because I had met my out-of-pocket deductible for the year. The most disappointing part of this experience was the complete lack of follow-up and transparency. No one contacted me about the lost package, the insurance being reprocessed, or the delays. It left me feeling like patient care and communication were not a priority.Because of this experience, I will now be seeking assistance from another office. Unfortunately, there has been a complete loss of trust in the organization as a whole, which is extremely disappointing given how positive my experience with the doctor himself was.
Dr. Jeffrey Alexander was amazing. He knew what was wrong immediately. He diagnosed me properly. Gave me treatment options. Went through each option and explained them. Took the time to answer all my questions. Made me feel like I wasn't crazy with the pain that I was having. Will recommend him to others! Very friendly nurses and front desk staff.
This is about the Fox lake location. I went once for myself and once for my child. I felt like my concerns were dismissed and he cut my toe nail and sent me home. Fast forward 8 months later, I took my child for her nail seemingly growing into her cuticle. Different doctor but again concerns were dismissed while he focused on a wart. Said he can shave it down and we can buy some medicine. Some super secret medicine that can only be bought in a medical office for $60 dollars. A quick google search shows this exact medicine is about $18-20 a bottle. Nice markup 😒. Fast forward a couple weeks for the bill to arrive. Billed for an office visit, about $120 and podiatric surgery for an additional $150 something. $150 to shave a freaking wart. ZERO COMMUNICATION on cost. Just does it and then gaslights you into buying their medicine. Canceled my follow up and will find care somewhere else. Was not worth the convenience of the location to my house. Also what’s with the Klara virtual assistant? Trash program says I was responding with emojis instead of 1’s or 2’s? Literally emojis like 😒😂. I do not recommend.
This is hands down one of the best medical offices I have visited. The staff is kind, professional and friendly. Every interaction from the moment I entered made me feel comfortable and valued. Dr. Alexander is thorough, compassionate and really caring. The level of attention is rare these days, and truly made a difference.
