San Dieguito Tennis Club has been member-owned since 1966, tucked into a five-acre terraced hillside in Encinitas near Highway 5’s Manchester Avenue exit. Nine hard courts anchor the club, and pickleball gets a dedicated court plus a hitting wall doubling as practice space, with one of the lowest player-to-court ratios in the country at 21 to 1. Court reservations are required for ordinary play, and members can bring guests for $10 a day. A pro shop sells balls, club apparel, grips, and snacks, and a ball machine rents to members for $12 an hour (or $10 for 30 minutes) on designated courts. Programming includes round robins, potlucks, tournaments, junior events, USTA and local league play, group clinics, and private lessons, including from touring pro Rodrigo Grajales, a certified pickleball coach who turned pro in 2024.
