I had a great experience working with PowerCourt on my backyard basketball court. The installation team was professional, efficient, and delivered a high-quality court that looks and plays fantastic. There were a couple of minor issues after the initial install, but they were very responsive and came back quickly to make things right without any hassle. I really appreciated their willingness to stand behind their work and ensure everything met my expectations. Overall, I’d highly recommend PowerCourt if you’re looking for a well-built, professional backyard court.

I used Powercourt to build and install my garage rooftop basketball court in Chicago. Sadly, I cannot recommend them. The court looks great, but it is littered with dead spots across the entire court surface. Because Powercourt will only install the court surface and does not do the required deck installation for it to sit on, I hired a separate contractor for that work.I primarily worked with Mitch (the owner's son) at Powercourt and asked him exactly what was required to build a sufficient deck for the court surface. He told me he'd recommend using Trex or similar to avoid board warping—but that's it. Once I tried out the court and discovered how poorly it played, I reached back out to Mitch, who did return to the site. He more or less agreed that "there was an issue" and that he'd send his guys around to see what they could do. However, that didn't happen, and Mitch suddenly became very unresponsive.At this point I reached out to his father, Dave. Dave came by within a couple of days and also agreed there was an issue. He said he would have his guys come back and try to address it by pulling the court surface up and adding upwards of 400 screws to secure the Trex to the floating deck structure. Unfortunately, this did not really solve the problem. I reached back out to Dave to let him know and never heard back.Between the prophylactic roof resurfacing, deck construction, and court installation, this was roughly a $40,000 project. I don't know the answer for sure, but I suspect there are certain things that need to be done a little differently when building a deck structure for the purposes of a basketball court. It's fine if they don't want to be in the business of building decks, but it's their responsibility to be knowledgeable about the requirements and communicate them instead of just pointing the finger at another contractor.I will say that Dave, Mitch, and their crew are all polite, and everything felt very professional until things went sideways. I wish I could give them a glowing review and be fully enjoying my court, but sadly, I'm left with the option of either living with a subpar surface or plowing more money into it with a different builder who knows how to solve the problem.

Power Court and all of Dave's guys are amazing!! I own two baseball, softball and sports rehab training centers and they have done everything for my places. Installed new batting cages, indoor turf, drop down cages, fencing, observation decks and all of the equipment and more. Everything was done to perfection and done on time. Vince and Sam, who I consider to be their best guys, are craftsmen and very good with my hard to fix jobs too. Replacing worn netting all around my newly acquired facility, gates and fencing for my new parent waiting area, replacing worn turf...anything asked. Not only done on time, but clean, and came in UNDER budget. I'd recommend Power Court and Dave VanDerVeen for any work you have in a sports facility. They are the best!!

Dave and team did a great job installing a sport court at our house and were great to work with and super helpful. Court is beautiful and has been a wonderful add to our home.
