Before visiting this hospital, make sure to call your insurance provider to ask whether this hospital is in-network or not. When I booked an appointment, they told me it was in-network, so I booked it. After the doctor’s consultation, they sent me a bill for $294, in addition to the $50 I paid during the visit — because it turned out to be out-of-network.If the doctor suggests a CT scan, make sure to collect your records as soon as possible, because they have a useless patient portal that doesn’t contain any medical records — it’s only good for paying bills. I still can’t understand why they call it a “patient portal” when they don’t update the records on it. Even if you call Ascension Illinois for your CT scan, they won’t provide it directly to the patient.

Dr. Drake and his Team were wonderful, and my physical therapist, Jahnvi Patel was FANTASTIC!!!I had surgery on my shoulder about 6mos ago and Jahnvi helped me tremendously with my recovery. When I first met Jahnvi, I could barely dress myself. She showed me how to perform my exercises and put together a list of home exercises so that I could continue my progress at home safely. Jahnvi is knowledgeable, attentive, and really took the time to understand my concerns and answer all my questions. Thanks to their personalized approach, I have seen significant improvement in my mobility and overall well-being. I highly recommend Core Orthopedics to anyone looking for a skilled and caring Team!

I had en excellent experience with CORE Orthopedics. Dr. Kuesis completed a total knee replacement on both my knees, one in November of 2023 and the other in December of 2025. After reading online all the horror stories about knee replacement surgery recovery, I am happy that I had a great recovery for both surgeries. I experienced minimal pain post op for both replacements. And I was pretty much back to my normal activity after only 8 weeks. Thank you Dr. Kuesis!

I am upset why Core Orthopedic in Hoffman Estates has changed their exam policies. During my last visit a student trainee entered the exam room without my consent and stood there just staring at me asking me dumb questions and then finally the female nurse practioner entered the room asking the same questions as the student. The student (stranger) was very unfriendly and had a turned down mouth. She had previously asked me questions and completed a basic exam of my knee strength. Why? Then when the nurse practioner finally entered the exam room, not only did she asked me the exact same questions again and brought the same student into the exam room with her. I was pissed off. I have been a patient at Core for almost 5+ years and I have NEVER known Core to do this exam technique before. I usually walk in, pay my ridiculous co-pay, received a steriod injection and out of there in 20 minutes max. Now, Core want to perform additional exams, x-rays and take unnecessary blood tests just to receive a simple knee injection. They are Greedy. You would think after 5+ years and two procedures later Core should already know my diagnosis without having a patient running around and taking more unnecessary tests again every year. All this to have them send you repeated payment invoices and to ask you to pay off your balance at the front desk loudly in front of everyone. More importantly, I do not like an extra person staring at me or listening to my private discussions about my health with my assigned medical professional. This unauthorized person I don't care who they are, unless i bring them with me - makes me extremely uncomfortable, nervous to discuss my true health concerns rom fear of being judged by this extra pair of eyes staring and listening to you. Maybe I am just 'old school', still I feel medical practices who violate your privacy exams should be reported to the property medical authorities. Especially without asking you first if it's okay to bring in a student or nurse bc they're too damn lazy to look at the computer and/or do not know how to type. Ridiculous. I have no plans of returning to Core Orthopedic for this primary reason. A simple steroid knee injection or any private time with a medical staff should not be violated by bringing students or strangers into your private exam room. When did all this began? I DON'T LIKE IT! I think it is horrible and should be stopped and consider how this disturbs and interrupts the patient private thoughts and their alone time with their doctor or a nurse practioner. Some people may have PTSD and having too many people in the room makes them nervous and hesitant to talk comfortably to any doctor. I am not the only patient who feels this way. Trust me! You will lose a lot patients of this continues especially matured patients who remember when this crap did not exist and doctors actually talked to you one on one into your eyes and there were no damn computers for them to stare at and play on to avoid talking to the patient. They had no.choice but to write down on paper your private exam notes. Times have really changed. I have to find a new Orthopedic specialist in my area bc I am no longer interested in Core tacky exam practices. I would not recommend Core Orthopedic in Hoffman Estates! I do not like their new exam policies techniques and for this reason I would stay away. I would not refer to anyone else anymore.

I was treated with kindness and respect the whole time I was at the facility. Dr. Kuesis is an exceptional doctor. He successfully diagnosed and treated my wife. Now he has successfully diagnosed my issue and is now successfully treating me. I want to thank all the supporting staff and the staff of doctors correctly treating their patients. 👏👏
