Description
Alpine Shop is a family-owned South Burlington institution dating to 1963, and its 20,000-square-foot store now houses what it bills as Vermont’s largest tennis and pickleball specialty shop alongside its ski, snowboard, and golf departments. The pickleball wall carries paddles, balls, footwear, apparel, and accessories from brands including Selkirk, Vulcan, Head, Babolat, and Wilson. A smart demo program lets you test paddles or racquets for $5 a day, credited toward purchase if you buy. Re-gripping and re-stringing are handled in-house, and the shop supports the local scene by hosting events like the Vermont State Pickleball Championship. The store holds a 4.6 rating across 276 Google reviews and is open daily 10 to 6, with online ordering at alpineshopvt.com.

Highly recommend this shop for sports and outdoor outfit, especially yoga, ski and golf. Got some Lululemon, vuori, and Patagonia outfits which was sold out online, what a gem! They also have some local yoga events. The owner and personal shoppers are super helpful! I also enjoyed the clean and private fitting room. Last but not least they have a Waffle House inside which you can get waffles!!
Alpine Shop is a favorite shop to go for sports equipment and great service. I've been a customer for decades. They offer expert ski boot fitting as well as many other quality products. Fischer went the extra mile for me today, to resolve something with my Scott Guide's Choice sunglasses - which offer the best eye protection for water sports and cycling. Thank you Fischer, and thank you Alpine shop, for making doing business with you a real pleasure.
I have been to Alpine Shop many times and have always had incredible luck finding high quality outdoor apparel, both for winter and summer. You can tell that the items were carefully curated for comfort, durability, ease of use and style by folks who love the outdoors in Vermont as well. I also bought my entire uphill set from them this past winter and the team was incredibly helpful. I have really poor foot circulation and it isn't always easy to find the right boots. Highly recommend all year round!!
Alpine Vermont Shop absolutely saved my ski day. I walked in after a rough time on the mountain—my own boots were making skiing miserable—and I was honestly pretty frustrated. From the moment I arrived, the experience completely turned around. The gentleman who helped me (I wish I remembered his name—he mentioned he used to ski Lake Tahoe, so I hope the team knows exactly who this is) was exceptional. He took the time to really understand what was going wrong, did careful liner work, and dialed in the fit of my boots with true expertise and patience. You could immediately tell he was a master of his craft. He also recommended Darn Tough socks from Vermont, which ended up being a game-changer—comfortable, warm, and exactly what I needed. That extra attention to detail made a huge difference. What stood out most was the professionalism and skill of the technicians here. These folks truly know what they’re doing and genuinely care about getting you back on the mountain comfortably and confidently. If you’re struggling with boots, fit issues, or anything ski-related, I can’t recommend Alpine Vermont Shop enough. They turned a bad ski day into a positive experience, and I’ll absolutely be coming back for any future ski needs. 🎿
⭐☆☆☆☆Very disappointing experience at Alpine Shop in South Burlington. My husband and I stopped in to browse and were immediately made to feel unwelcome. Not a single employee greeted us, asked if we needed assistance, or offered any customer service whatsoever.Instead, we felt like we were being watched and judged the entire time we were in the store. The staff seemed far more interested in keeping an eye on us than helping us. As we left, we were met with obvious dirty looks that made us feel as though they suspected us of doing something wrong simply for being there.I've shopped in many outdoor and sporting goods stores over the years, and I've never felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome. Customers should be treated with respect, not made to feel like potential thieves. We left without making a purchase and certainly won't be returning. If customer service and treating people with basic courtesy matter to you, I would recommend shopping elsewhere.
