Description
WithersRavenel is an employee-owned North Carolina civil engineering, surveying, and planning firm with nine offices across the state and a parks and recreation practice spanning park design, sports complexes, and recreation programming.
Its pickleball credentials are two substantial named projects. At Pleasant Park in Apex, a 92-acre park where the firm ran design through construction, it made mid-construction adjustments to meet pickleball demand, converting the proposed racket complex from eight tennis courts to four tennis plus six pickleball courts, one of several firsts for the town. At Swing Racquet + Paddle in Raleigh, a planned national racquet sports campus expecting over one million annual visitors, the program includes 25 pickleball courts including show courts, indoor and outdoor, alongside 28 tennis courts, padel, and beach tennis.
The firm also publishes pickleball trend coverage and pairs design work with funding consulting for municipal clients.
Engagements run through its proposal process.
