Pickle Pop

Description
Pickle Pop turned an unused storefront on the Third Street Promenade into Santa Monica’s first indoor pickleball venue, three PPA-approved courts founded by retired pro soccer player Stephanie McCaffrey and Project Runway Season 15 winner Erin Robertson, who designed the vivid color scheme herself. Anyone can book a court, though members get priority: an $85-a-month plan (two-month minimum) unlocks advance booking for courts, clinics, and open play, half-priced open play, and event discounts. The calendar runs private lessons, clinics, and live ball with in-house pros, plus social programming like Saturday Night Social Club, Thirsty Thursdays, and themed round robin tournaments. Signature paddles rent for $4.50, a daily demo pass lets players test pro-level paddles from the shop, and the venue books private events, birthdays, and office outings, with beer, wine, and food on site. Open daily, mostly 7 AM to 9 or 10 PM, it holds a 4.5 rating across 55 Google reviews.

I recently attended a work event at Pickle Pop and we had a blast! The staff was super knowledgeable about the game rules and even stepped in to play with us while we waited for our full party to arrive. We enjoyed the chips and tacos and open bar which had some really interesting beverages available.Since this is right on the 3rd st promenade I’d maybe suggest getting a meal elsewhere but for some fun and games and drinks this is an easy one stop shop!
This is my first time playing pickle ball. I had to find out what all the hype was. I love tennis and ping-pong and I must say, this came in third on my activity list. While it’s nice to play in a smaller court so you’re not running more of a distance to hit the ball, the actual ball is very light and has very little bounce to it so you’ve really gotta get under it to hit it after the first bounce unless you’re just going to volley it! Overall, it was enjoyable. The facilities were lovely. Nice courts and covered interior so you’re not in the blazing sun. They give you whatever weight racket you are comfortable with and they have a nice little selection of canned cold cocktails, and other non-alcoholic drinks. $20 to book a court for the hour and the process to book a court online was seamless. The only issue I had where we were trying to change our court time to a day earlier and we’re not able to reach anyone and when we called their voicemail it was always full. Wound up emailing them and got a response so it worked out. $20 for the hour is very reasonable. Dallas was very friendly and helpful during our visit.
Picklepop is so much fun! Got to play some incredible games with great folks. I love reserving a court and getting to show my friends the game of pickleball. One of those friends then held their birthday party and we had a blast! The drinks are great and the staff are so helpful and supportive. It’s a beautiful venue! I just wish they had one on the east side!
Recently a guy from the office coordinated a company outing to PicklePop in Santa Monica. While everyone was a bit nervous to see if he could come up with a good event, it turned out GREAT! The facility was clean and comfortable, with being indoors protecting us from weather. The staff was fun and just the right amount of interactive. You could tell the staff appreciated the group, and went out of their way to make it a special time for everyone - from beginners to well-experienced players. Definitely recommend PicklePop in Santa Monica to anyone looking for a great experience!
I finally got to check out Pickle Pop on my last trip to LA after following them on Instagram. This place did not disappoint. The staff was great! Jane greeted us, set us up with equipment and a court. We played for an hour and had so much fun!Better than expected. 10/10!
