Rebound Rose Quarter is a Portland, Oregon location of Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery, an independent orthopedic and neurosurgery practice whose site maintains a dedicated pickleball injury treatment section. The practice publishes its own pickleball content, including a ten exercise program for flexibility, agility, strength, and endurance, injury prevention guidance from its sports medicine doctors, and descriptions of common conditions affecting pickleball players. Rebound states it has served Portland, Vancouver, Lake Oswego, and surrounding communities since 1969, providing preventive, nonsurgical, and surgical care for bone, joint, and muscle injuries, with doctors who prioritize conservative care plans before considering surgery. For recent injuries, the practice operates Rapid Access clinics in Portland, Vancouver, and Lake Oswego.
Dr. Ragel is lively, attentive, knowledgeable, pragmatic, and knows how to meet a patient where they are at. His explanations are clear and concise. He answers all of my questions until I am totally satisfied in my understanding. He presents all options and defers to patient autonomy in deciding a path forward. He backs his knowledge and advise with statistics and studies as well as his personal career experience. The type of doctor who will restore your faith in Medicine, as well as being a great conversationalist. The clinic is a bit hard to find. The scheduler offered me the address of the parking garage to use, which I needed -- so be sure you look up where you are parking and not just the clinic address if you are driving. I parked in a garage for the Moda Center. I told the attendant that I was there for an appointment at Rebound and they waived me through. After that, you can follow the signage to locate the clinic.
I saw Dr. Jay Crary at Rebound for a Lisfranc ligament injury, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you know anything about Lisfranc injuries, you know how stressful and scary they can be — but Dr. Crary put me at ease from the moment he walked in. He took the time to actually explain what was going on with my foot, walked me through my options, and gave me thoughtful, honest advice about the road ahead. Nothing felt rushed or dismissive. He clearly knows foot and ankle injuries inside and out, and it shows in how confidently and clearly he communicates. Best of all, he was able to give me positive news about my injury — and hearing that from a specialist of his caliber meant everything. Walking out of an appointment feeling informed, reassured, and hopeful instead of anxious is exactly what you want from a doctor, and that's what Dr. Crary delivered. If you're dealing with a foot or ankle injury, especially something as tricky as a Lisfranc, go see Dr. Crary at Rebound. Knowledgeable, straightforward, and genuinely caring. Five stars — highly recommend.
Finally! Someone who knows what they're doing with regards to nerve pain! After a consultation with Dr. Brian Ragel, some actual solutions were presented, discussed, and solutions both short term (medications that actually work!) and long term (possible surgery) were offered and accepted. Immediately, my wife's symptoms were alleviated by the medicines prescribed, and with an injection and a surgery both on schedule for the near future, for the first time in six weeks, my wife is happy, hopeful, mobile, and nearly pain free!Save yourself the time, money, effort, pain, suffering, heartache and heartbreak: if you are experiencing agonizing nerve pain, skip the chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapist, and above all, the urgent care visits, and get yourself into Rebound, as fast as possible! Everything else is a waste of time. Just be aware: the Rose Quarter location is a little tricky to get to, so if there's one in a more convenient location for your needs, I'm sure they're just as great. That said, I get the feeling these doctors cater to Portland Trailblazers and other professional athletes, so...take from that what you will. Either way, this visit was a slam dunk, and I'm both thankful for their efforts and expertise, and hopeful for continued positive changes in the future!
Rebound was a mixed bag. My initial appointment at the Moda Center was not fun. I felt like the PA who saw me (Kirsten) was scolding me during our appointment. She was not friendly.Reaching the right department is also a major pain. If they call you and you miss the call, good luck getting to the right place without spending about 4 to 5 hours on hold. That said, the surgical staff was great (in Vancouver). Dr (Impessato?) was amazing and I feel much better after my procedure.
Dr. Jay Crary is very decent and thoughtful. He suggested ankle surgery but also carefully reviewed my medical status. Being a Lymphoma patient, he concerns the risk of infection if my immune is weak. For that, he quickly reached out my oncologist to check my current immune level. I really appreciate that and really trust him as my surgeon..
