A while back I was in need of hip replacement surgery .I had checked with a person that worked for WSOC channel news Steve Udelson because I knew of his hip replacement surgery. He told me that Dr Bohannon Mason did his surgery and he was very happy with the outcome. Because of his recommendation I did have him do my surgery. Since my surgery it has totally been life changing for me no pain and I can walk well again. Dr Mason is he very best in his field. I highly recommend him.

I’ve had a great experience at Orthocarolina Hip and Knee. Both of the PAs have been stellar, spending a lot of time discussing my condition, options, etc and ensuring I understand my treatment. They’ve been warm and shown real concern for making sure I can continue to live my best life with my condition. I can’t say enough good about the team!

I am 62 and hate doctors. They scare me and never seem to listen. However, both doctors at OrthoCarolina are COMPLETELY different. When I broke my hip in 2024 ten days before my 60th birthday, which I was determined to make it to, and wanted to put off surgery until after my day, he gently, intelligently, and respectfully explained why I couldn't do that and what could happen if I tried. Dr Shelby did a great job and was the most professional and respectful doctor I had met in 30 years. Then he left. I had to change providers. I needed to follow up on things I didn't understand about my issues. I wanted a woman. I was booked with Caitlin Krusen and she is AMAZING. I had to bring my daughter with me because we tag team well with medical issues. She asks questions I forget to ask or am afraid to ask. Caitlin wasn't bothered at all by this, she respected it. She was warm and friendly. She was honest even when the news wasn't great. She helped me understand. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. She is great and while I do miss my original doctor, I've never been happier with a replacement. I request her now. I won't see anyone else there ~ EVER. As for the rest of the staff, I love them too!!

After a failed knee replacement from another surgeon. Thank goodness we found Dr Curtain. He was able to take my Mother as a patient. He had to remove the knee implant start over by putting in a hinge and repairing the patella tendon along with a meniscus repair. She has been in a cast for 3 weeks post appointment just yesterday. The window in the cast was revealed and it looks fantastic. She has 5 more to go and then a T bar brace for 14 weeks. We are so thankful for the amazing team and excellent care she has received.

Dr J was great! Very nice, made me feel comfortable as he drew fluid off my knee & injected steroids. My knee felt so much better immediately & today I feel no tenderness or pain whatsoever. Highly recommend him.
