Char Bar Parkville is a Southern-inspired barbecue restaurant and pickleball venue at 15348 Old Town Drive in Parkville, Missouri, opened in late 2023 as the Kansas City smokehouse’s second location. Six courts, four indoor and two outdoor, anchor the play side: open play runs mornings and late evenings at $5, court rentals fill the 10 AM to 9 PM window at roughly $20 to $40 per court, lessons start at $50, and Tuesday round robins run with InPickle Nation. The restaurant side serves smoked meats, brunch on weekends, a full bar, and a lawn with backyard games. Guests rate it 4.3 stars across 709 Google reviews. Pickleball hours run 7 AM to 11 PM daily, with the kitchen open from 11 AM.
What a delightful brunch! First time visiting and I have no complaints. The restaurant is fairly large with indoor and outdoor seating. It’s inviting and filled with bright energy. We opted to sit outside on the green space. Our waitress quickly approached and took our order. I was looking for a low carb option so I ordered the Barbacoa Brunch Burrito minus the tortilla and potatoes. The burnt ends were perfectly cooked and seasoned well; melt in your mouth! The eggs were fluffy and cheesy, and the pico de gallo added a refreshing kick.Great brunch experience!
I visited the Char Bar in Parkville while visiting family in Kansas City. The restaurant was very accommodating to seat our party of twelve together and allowed us to have separate checks. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long. The hushpuppies were my favorite! I had the brisket burger and a side of carrots! This place has a cool vibe with some outdoor activities like corn hole and other games available. This is a great place for family in a casual environment.
Recommended (!) for an upscale barbecue experience! The decorations are very cool & the fixtures over tables are creative repurposing of older materials. We had the Red Eye Donuts that looked like fried french toast sticks w/ a tasty vanilla bean custard sauce, Biscuits & Gravy (yummy), Crispy Potato Frittata (flavorful) & the Burnt End Benny (delicious & unique twist on eggs Benedict). If you like BBQ rub on everything, including the fried potatoes, then you will love the food here. Portions were large & table service was excellent. They also have outside seating, games, & inside & outside pickle ball courts.
Stopped in for a quick bite and we were seated quickly. We were greeted by our server within minutes and had our drinks soon after. Our food was served within 13-15 minutes of ordering and it was hot, fresh and really flavorful. I don't think we've had anything here that wasn't cooked well, served at the perfect temperature or wasn't tender and delicious. You can eat on the patio or inside. There's multiple television sets with a variety of games or events broadcast. It's a little noisy, but you can still have a conversation with your tablemates.
Great food and drink selection. Ask about daily specials, my Burnt Ends Reuben on a pumpernickel roll was AMAZING. Smoked OF was well crafted. Less than 30 minutes from Fort Leavenworth. Large outdoor space, long bar and booth seating. Pickleball courts.
